An aquatint printed on xerograph with chine collé, this small, ghostlike reproduction of a page from The Temptation of Saint Antony compresses the decay of printed text to evoke memory, doubt, and moral unease.
Set into a vast white field, a narrow rectangular block of faint type is mottled with vertical drips and granular smudges so that words surface and dissolve, giving the impression of a damaged page seen through fog.
Merging xerographic effects with traditional printmaking, K.O.S. situates an urban, photocopy aesthetic within fine art to question textual authority and to reframe a canonical religious story for contemporary viewers.
