(magazine published: October 1990 through September 1991)
Ten printed magazine spreads from the Museum in Progress project that repurpose issues of the business magazine Cash Flow as a platform for bold typographic and editorial interventions meant to turn a commercial periodical into a public-art statement.
The open spread shocks by placing a dense, multi‑column, newsy page with a small portrait and headline on the left against a full‑bleed black page on the right dominated by huge white capital letters reading “VERSUCH ÜBER EIN DING UND SEINE KEHRSEITE,” forcing a jump from intimate reading to blunt proclamation.
By inserting art directly into a circulated magazine, the project collapsed the line between gallery and mass media and anticipated later strategies that use everyday publication networks to stage conceptual and political artworks.
