Oversized black lettering reading “REPRESENTS YOU” sits atop a vibrating field of pale-blue concentric lines, with a casual, hand-lettered “Arnold Schwarzenegger (your name here)” at the top that turns the official-looking poster into a personal provocation.
Working in the poster and screenprint tradition, the piece uses celebrity imagery and mass-media aesthetics to critique the spectacle of political authority and to insist that seeing art is not a substitute for civic action.
