Untitled #93
José Antonio Suárez Londoño
Colombian, born 1955
1994
An etching on paper that arranges twenty drinking glasses in a neat grid, using repetition to turn a humble household object into a subject for close scrutiny.
From afar it reads like a printed pattern, but close inspection reveals hand‑etched textures, slightly different fill levels, and a stray drip that make each glass feel individual despite the serial layout.
By treating an everyday vessel through serial printmaking, the work connects Pop and conceptual strategies to questions of consumption and routine, making visible small variations within massed repetition.
