A small, spare piece made with pencil on layered, cut paper fastened by visible staples, in which Wilmarth folds drawing into a shallow object to probe edge, weight, and quiet presence.
You are struck by a pale, folded triangular form set into a smudged gray field—soft graphite washes, faint construction lines and exposed staples make the surface feel both measured and tactile.
Working between drawing and sculpture, this postminimalist work shows how minimal gestures—folds, staples, subtle shading—opened new ways to think about space, shadow and the materiality of the drawn line.
