Dognat' i peregnat' v tekhniko-ekonomicheskom otnoshenii peredovye kapitalisticheskie strany v 10 let. 70 kartinnye diagrammna otkrytkakh (To Catch up with and Surpass the Leading Capitalist Countries in Technical and Economic Affairs in 10 Years. 70 Pictorial Diagrams on Postcards)
1931
An illustrated letterpress postcard that uses a pictorial chart to argue that Soviet agricultural output (1930) dramatically outpaces Europe, promoting the aim to "catch up and surpass" capitalist countries.
The image is split down the middle: a misty, low-yield European landscape on the left contrasts with a sunlit, tractor-driven Soviet field on the right, where stacked blue panels topped by oversized ears of corn form a soaring bar chart rising well above a 1913 baseline.
One of a series of 1931 pictorial diagrams, it shows how Soviet designers turned statistics into bold visual propaganda to sell Five-Year Plan modernization and reshape public perception of economic progress.
