Fluxus 301
George Maciunas
American, born Lithuania. 1931–1978
1967
An offset-lithograph pressure‑sensitive sticker sheet by George Maciunas that reproduces ornate jewelry designs—turning signs of luxury into a tongue‑in‑cheek, mass‑produced adhesive object.
A sepia, template‑like page dominated by a sweeping crescent necklace flanked by smaller brooches and pendants, their delicate filigree and teardrop motifs rendered like a faded mechanical engraving you could peel off and stick down.
Created for Fluxus’s Paraphernalia in 1967, it exemplifies Maciunas’s strategy of using cheap reproductive media to democratize, parody, and circulate art outside traditional elite channels.
