A cut-and-pasted montage of printed images worked with gouache and pencil in which Telingater stitches together magazine fragments, machines and figures to evoke the energy and collage logic of modern urban life.
What strikes you first is the brash, rhythmic juxtapositions — a laughing top-hatted figure set against shards of red and yellow, floating heads, a leaping athlete, a little dog and bits of machinery layered with torn edges and varied textures so the page feels like a visual jazz score.
Made in late-1920s Soviet avant-garde, this photomontage advances the visual language of constructivism by recycling mass-media imagery and mechanical motifs into a dynamic graphic vocabulary that influenced modern design and the use of montage in public and political communication.
