Oil Platter

Oil Platter

Aldo Bakker
Dutch, born 1971
2007
A small porcelain oil platter in which the designer transforms a simple dipping plate into a folded, sculptural vessel that contains and guides oil for serving.
A flawless white disk whose rim sweeps up into a single slender, sail‑like curve, giving the porcelain an almost weightless, folded appearance.
It exemplifies contemporary design’s blending of utility and sculpture, using minimal form and delicate material to rethink everyday tableware.
