A small cup grown from microalgae and a sugar-based biopolymer, made to test how living materials can be shaped into everyday objects.
Its warm, pale-beige body has a softly granular, almost velvety surface and a simple flared silhouette that tapers to a small faceted base, reading more like something cultivated than conventionally made.
Part of the biodesign movement, it shows how designers are cultivating biological materials as low‑impact alternatives to plastics and ceramics, translating living processes into usable objects.
