A 22-minute high-definition video with sound in which Meriem Bennani animates two anthropomorphic lizards to use humor and CGI as a way to probe how digital culture shapes identity and social life.
At first glance the pair’s slick, iridescent skins, upright, almost human gestures, and the flattened, color-washed backdrop make them feel both comical and uncanny, like social‑media avatars performing for an invisible audience.
By staging animated creatures as performers, Bennani links folklore, meme culture, and virtual production to reveal how contemporary communities and identities are produced and circulated through digital images.
