Marja Cocktail Glass
Saara Hopea
Finnish, 1925–1984
1956
A set of small blown-glass cocktail tumblers by Saara Hopea (1956) that pairs a simple, rounded silhouette with rich, jewel-like color to make everyday drinkware feel refined.
Their low, egg-shaped forms and thick, curved walls glow with translucent reds, smoky gray, deep blue, and plum, turning each compact cup into a small, luminous object you want to hold.
Typical of postwar Finnish modernism, these glasses show how careful glassblowing and subtle color experimentation could unite functional utility with refined, mass-producible design.
