All-seeing eye

In this woodcut monoprint enriched with pastel and gold leaf, Chris Ofili turns an inverted, ambiguous human figure into a radiant, mystical “all‑seeing” emblem that fuses corporeal presence with spiritual symbolism.
Your eye is grabbed by a jewel‑red luminous mark at the figure’s crown set against a burnished gold geometric field, while electric bands of blue, pink, and coral drip and pulse at the dark edges, so the image feels both material and otherworldly.
By combining printmaking with the tactile shimmer of pastel and gold, Ofili challenges traditional hierarchies of medium and image, recasting devotional iconography and bodily figuration within a contemporary visual language that broadens what a print can convey.
