A color instant print (Polacolor II) in which the artist stages a near-nude figure amid draped fabric and glaring lamps to turn a fleeting bodily gesture into theatrical photographic performance.
What hits you first is the electric clash of cyan and crimson light, the gleam of studio lamps, and the figure’s blurred, airborne motion that dissolves the body into streaks of color and movement.
Part of the artist’s Polaroid experiments, this work helped push instant photography beyond straightforward documentation into a medium for performance, self-invention, and the physical manipulation of the photographic image.
