A spare offset-lithograph poster by Uwe Loesch that announces the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne through a large black field pierced by a central white square and restrained blue type.
What strikes you is the arresting emptiness: a white square like a window or hole in a vast matte-black surface, its softened edges and small deep-blue lines of type along the left and lower margins making the whole image read as both architectural and quietly emphatic.
The poster exemplifies late-20th-century German typographic minimalism, using negative space and reductive graphic means to create presence and to rethink how institutional identity can be conveyed through absence rather than ornament.
