Building Form Studies, project, Perspectives

Graphite on paper sketches by Hans Hollein (1962) that test building massing and perspective through stacked cubic volumes and rounded pods, exploring how simple geometric modules might compose a speculative architectural design.
Economical, tentative pencil strokes map blocky, interlocking masses across the upper sheet and a cluster of bulbous, spherical forms on the lower sheet, their light lines and sparse perspective cues giving a vivid sense of process and scale.
These studies capture Hollein’s early experiments with modular, sculptural forms and the 1960s interest in megastructural, idea-driven architecture, helping open architectural drawing to more conceptual, object-like design strategies.
