Orange Sound, project
Lauretta Vinciarelli
Italian, 1943–2012
1999
A luminous architectural study in watercolor and colored ink on paper in which Lauretta Vinciarelli reduces a room to nested planes of warm orange light and geometric voids, testing how light and color define architectural space.
You’re first drawn into a glowing rectangular aperture of softly graded amber planes that read like a mirrored floor and floating steps, so the image feels simultaneously like a serene chamber and a radiating portal.
Part of Vinciarelli’s work that blurs drawing and architecture, it shifted representation toward atmosphere and perception—showing how light and minimal form can evoke spatial experience rather than just document structure.
