T-House, Wilton, New York (Scale model)

A scale model in steel and plywood proposing a T-shaped, cantilevered house that reduces a dwelling to a hovering block and a tapered support to test structure and siting.
What first strikes you is the dark rectangular ‘head’ with evenly spaced vertical slots appearing to float above a sloping, wedge-like base, all set on a smooth, warm plywood plinth.
Part of a late-20th-century architectural practice that treats models as sculptural ideas, it explores minimal geometry, cantilever and enclosure versus view, and points toward site-specific, prefabricated approaches to domestic design.
