A lithographic poster by Roman Cieślewicz promoting Krzysztof Penderecki’s Diabły z Loudun, using mirrored photomechanical imagery to summon a demonic, theatrical presence.
It hits like a visual Rorschach: horned, shadowy facial forms emerge from dense halftone grain, punctuated by neon cyan and magenta highlights and two pale, grasping hands, while bold pink and blue type anchors the bottom.
A striking example of Cieślewicz’s work that helped push the Polish poster tradition into international avant‑garde design—turning promotional graphics into psychologically charged art through photomontage, halftone texture, and unexpected color.
