Beer Glass

Beer Glass

Koloman Moser
Austrian, 1868–1918
c. 1900
A clear-glass beer glass in which Koloman Moser aimed to fuse practical use with a spare, rhythmic ornament.
Its tall, cylindrical form is subtly animated by shallow vertical indentations and a softly rippled base that catch light and suggest quiet movement.
Made around 1900, it embodies the Vienna Secession ideal of bringing thoughtful design to everyday objects and points toward modernist tableware that balances craft and functionality.
