Folio XXVI from Bewitching Kisses (Besos Brujos)
Alberto Greco
Argentine, 1931–1965
1965
A double-sided folio from Alberto Greco’s Bewitching Kisses in which ink, ballpoint, felt-tip, watercolor and pasted paper on paper turn handwritten Spanish text into a confessional, performative page in an artist’s book.
You first notice a dense, looping hand layered with broad ink washes, splatters, crossings-out and pasted scraps so that words become smudged texture and a chaotic palimpsest of emotion.
Part of Greco’s late artist‑book work, this page collapses writing, drawing and performance into an intimate, streetwise object that helped push Latin American art toward ephemeral, autobiographical and action‑based practices.
