Coisa Linda is an illustrated book of screenprints and a collage in which Beatriz Milhazes translates decorative, tropical motifs into layered, rhythmic mandalas that celebrate color, pattern, and movement.
A centered, jewel-like medallion commands the pale blue cover—lacy black filigree and white heart-shaped petals encircle a spray of magenta stenciling and a matte gold ring, the crisp symmetry offset by a narrow yellow spine to create a festive balance of ornament and geometry.
Milhazes bridges Brazilian popular visual culture and international modernism, helping to redefine abstraction by embracing decoration, collage, and printmaking as vital strategies of contemporary art.
