"Bloomberg L.P. Represents You"
Kayrock and Wolfy
American
2007
A screenprint with ink additions that adopts the blunt visual language of a poster to question the claim that Bloomberg L.P. represents ordinary people.
You first notice the oversized, handlike black lettering—“BLOOMBERG L.P. REPRESENTS YOU”—set against a small, repetitive blue patterned field, with a tiny, sardonic fine-print line at the bottom that undercuts the headline.
The work extends the long lineage of political printmaking by using mass-media aesthetics to expose corporate power and to insist that seeing critique isn’t the same as taking political action.
