A screenprint on acrylic sheet in which Bridget Riley arranges repeating black bands to force the eye into a shimmering, almost painful sense of movement and spatial ambiguity.
Stark black stripes converge toward a tiny central point, appearing to fold and pulsate so the flat white surface seems to ripple and recede into depth.
Made during the height of Op Art, this print distills Riley’s systematic experiments in rhythm and perception, showing how minimal graphic systems can actively shape vision and influence design and visual science.
